I’m Natalie

Welcome to Chickadee Jane—the internet version of my vegetable garden and kitchen.

My first real garden was in 2004. Since then, I’ve learned what to grow, the things that work for me, and how to turn fresh, homegrown ingredients into simple, delicious meals.

And here’s the reality – I’m still learning!

Somewhere along the way, growing food became complicated. Endless online advice. Picture-perfect gardens. Expensive supplies. People insisting there’s only one right way to do things.

I don’t believe that.

Gardening should feel possible. I believe you can grow something wonderful in a small space with a little guidance, a willingness to learn, and permission to make mistakes. You don’t need to know everything before you begin—you just need to start.

Whether you’re gardening in a backyard, on a balcony, or with a few pots on the porch, my hope is that Chickadee Jane helps you build confidence in the garden, one season, one harvest, and one small success at a time.

So find your own little piece of dirt.

Let’s grow together.
